Ethereal Faces

Modern sand cast glass faces that speak out through the ethereal glass like an ancient artefact

Made from a one-off mould that is destroyed at the end of the glass-making process.

A series of ceramic faces are pressed into the sand mould and blue glass powders are dusted into the mould before molten glass is poured in.

Afterwards, it is put into a Leer kiln to cool slowly for a number of days. Then the sand is removed to reveal the finished piece.

The piece can be viewed from the shiny and clear flatter side or from the sculptural 3D side, which is rougher

Mounted on a flecked bluestone base with a satin finish.
